Chronological order of events in Kotilingala Temple Construction
History
The idea to construct this temple was originated, leading to the creation of numerous detailed maps for the project. We sought advise from various architects, former director of archeology and researcher Dr. Emani Nagi Reddy
A trust(Regd. 111/2016) was established to transform this idea into a tangible reality. The quest for a sacred location to construct the temple commenced. We explored numerous locations, seeking insights and a fitting holy site for the temple construction. Some of these places include Veligonda project, Dokiparru, Nudurupadu, Macharla, Achampeta, Kotappakonda, and more. Finally, residents from Vemavaram approached us, urging the construction of this divine and sacred temple in their village.
The foundation stone was ceremoniously placed, graced by the sacred touch of Nagasadhus. During this event, without any publicity, hundreds of thousands of people attended, and food distribution was carried out for all of them.
One of the world's largest Nandi structures, measuring 33 feet in height and 50 feet in length, was erected on the premises.
The project faced a temporary halt as the outbreak of COVID-19 prompted construction workers to return to their localities for safety reasons.
Using stones from the Ponnekallu quarry, we built the world's largest Sivalingam structure. The ground level was elevated to a height of 12 feet by filling it with sand.
We sourced the largest stones from different quarries to construct the compound wall for the temple.
On January 22nd, precisely at the auspicious moment of Lord Sri Rama Chandra Prabhu's Prana pratishtha in Ayodhya, we intend to consecrate and place Lord Mahakal, Goddess Mahakali, and Lord MahaGanapati in their designated positions.
